Dr. Andreas Bargello and Dr. Matthias Bargello from Germany attended a six-day course at HTTC in Ankara. The brothers, introduced in our visit report as the owners of BB Aesthetic, took part in the treatment of two patients during their training.
Beginning with consultation and donor assessment
The course began with consultation and treatment planning. The doctors calculated the grafts needed and assessed the donor area before drawing a hairline for the first patient with the instructors’ guidance.
They also practised using a 6× magnification loupe. The report describes how the instructors introduced the equipment before moving on to extraction.
Working through extraction and implantation
During extraction training, the instructors demonstrated how to hold the device, position it at the appropriate angle and select a punch for the graft being extracted. The doctors asked questions as they worked through extraction and implantation.
The implantation sessions covered making recipient incisions and placing grafts. Attention was given to the angle of the patient’s existing hair when positioning the grafts.
Feedback during the two cases
Our account records that the doctors needed less intervention during the second case, while the instructors remained available to guide them. It also describes the time the brothers spent talking with and reassuring their patients during the procedures.
