Frequently asked questions about training at the HTTC — Hair Transplant Training Center in Ankara, Turkey. Covering enrolment, techniques, costs, logistics, certification and post-training support for licensed physicians and surgeons.
About the Training
What is HTTC and who runs it?
HTTC is the Hair Transplant Training Center located at the HLC Hairline Clinic in Ankara, Turkey. Founded to pass on FUE expertise from senior hair surgeons to the next generation of physicians. Medical Director: Dr. Özgür Öztan. The training operates as a part of Raken AG (Switzerland) — full corporate details are on the Imprint.
Who can enrol?
Licensed physicians, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and general surgeons with a recognised medical degree. Medical assistants and surgical nurses can join as a paired trainee alongside a physician. We verify credentials during registration.
What techniques will I learn?
Manual FUE extraction, stick-and-place implantation, operation of the PCID (Programmable Cole Isolation Device), hairline design, donor-area evaluation, graft preparation, recipient-site creation, and patient consultation. Focus is on quality over quantity — you learn the techniques Dr. Öztan uses in daily practice.
What formats are available?
- Hair Transplant Training Course — 1–5 day customisable programme, hands-on practice on real patients, full course material, completion certificate. USD 5,000/day.
- FUE Workshop — shorter 1–2 day observation-focused format, suitable for experienced surgeons wanting a refresher.
Hands-On Practice
How much of the training is on real patients?
The majority. After a theory morning on day 1, you participate in live FUE procedures — first as observer, then as assistant, then as operator under direct supervision by the senior surgeon. Typical volume: 1–3 patient cases per training day depending on case complexity.
Will I operate on patients alone?
No. All operative work during training is performed under direct supervision by a senior HTTC surgeon. Your role scales up over the training days — by the final day you typically perform extractions and implantation for a full patient case, but always with the senior surgeon present.
How many participants are in one session?
Small groups. Typically 1–3 doctors per session to ensure direct surgical interaction and personalised feedback. We do not run large classroom-style cohorts.
Pricing and Payment
What does the training cost?
USD 5,000 per day for the full Hair Transplant Training Course. Workshop pricing varies by duration and group size — contact us for a custom quote. Detailed pricing on the Pricing page.
What is included?
Full-day instruction by a senior HTTC surgeon, observation time on live FUE surgery, supervised hands-on practice on real patients, course materials and the HTTC completion certificate.
What is not included?
International flights to Ankara, accommodation, local transfers between hotel and clinic, meals and personal travel insurance. We can recommend nearby hotels and assist with logistics upon request.
How do I pay?
Bank wire transfer in USD or EUR. A deposit secures your training slot; the balance is due on arrival.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Cancellations more than 30 days before the training start date receive a full deposit refund minus a small administrative fee. Cancellations within 30 days may receive a partial refund if the slot can be rebooked. Rescheduling is generally free if notified more than 14 days in advance.
Travel, Visa and Logistics
Do I need a visa for Turkey?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many EU, UK, US, Canadian and GCC citizens can enter Turkey visa-free or via the Turkish e-Visa online. Check the official Turkish consular site for your country. We provide a training invitation letter upon request to support your visa application.
Which airport should I fly to?
Ankara Esenboğa Airport (ESB) is the primary entry point — about 45 minutes by taxi to the clinic. Istanbul (IST or SAW) is also workable via a domestic connecting flight to Ankara.
Can you recommend accommodation?
Yes. Several international-standard hotels are within 10–15 minutes of the clinic in Gaziosmanpaşa/Çankaya district. We maintain a current recommendation list and can send it before your arrival.
How do I get from hotel to clinic daily?
Taxi is most practical (10–20 TRY per trip). Uber operates in Ankara. We can arrange fixed-rate private transfers if you prefer.
Certification and Post-Training
Is the HTTC certificate internationally recognised?
HTTC certificates document hands-on training and case exposure but are not a substitute for formal fellowship accreditation such as ISHRS Fellowship. Physicians use the HTTC certificate for clinic credentialing, continuing-education portfolios and as documented training evidence in society-membership applications. Acceptance depends on your local regulatory framework — more details on the certificate page.
Will HTTC support me after the training?
Yes. Alumni receive access to a private WhatsApp channel with senior HTTC surgeons for technical questions during their first independent cases. We also provide periodic case-review feedback on anonymised patient photos upon request.
Can I come back for additional training?
Absolutely. Many alumni return for specific technique modules (e.g. dense-pack recipient creation, body-hair harvesting, hairline-design refinement). Returning-alumnus pricing is available — contact us.
