Dr. Carlos Calixto travelled from Brazil to HTTC in Ankara for a three-day FUE training programme. He already had experience with motorised extraction tools and used the visit to work with manual FUE instruments and the PCID from Cole Instruments.
Our original report introduced him as a Brazilian plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. It also recorded his presidency of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery in 2005–2007 and 2010–2011. These biographical details describe the introduction published with the visit report.
Extraction, graft handling and magnification
The training covered punch selection and manual and motorised extraction, including the extraction of body-hair grafts. Dr. Calixto also worked on checking transection during extraction and handling follicular-unit grafts.
Magnification was another part of the programme. The sessions addressed the choice and use of loupes alongside the extraction instruments. Together, these topics gave the visit a practical focus on instrument handling and the examination of grafts during FUE.
